The 2020 Township Leaf Collection Program will begin the week of October 19th and continue through the first week of December. Once leaf collection has concluded for the season, leaves can be dropped at the organic matter disposal site on Point Road in South Heidelberg Township (You must obtain a key card from South Heidelberg Township to do this).
Leaves must be put in the street along the curb in front of your house.
Do not place leaves near or over storm boxes.
DO NOT PUT OUT ANYTHING BUT LEAVES.
DO NOT PLACE THE PILES OF LEAVES NEAR CARS OR OTHER VEHICLES OR ANY OTHER OBSTRUCTIONS.
The leaves will not be picked up if they are not easily reachable by the equipment or if anything but leaves is in the pile.
Leaves are not normally picked up in the non-development areas due to the danger involved to the crew from traffic. There is an area set up at the Township Building (720 Brownsville Road – on the Police side of the Building) where residents of non-developments can place their leaves, but they must bring them there. Leaves must be dumped into the designated area from any bags or containers. ONLY leaves can be placed in the designated area.
In all areas, if you see leaves near or covering storm boxes, please clear them or notify the Township that they need to be cleared. Clogged storm boxes make it difficult for storm water to get into the boxes, thus causing flooding in the roads.
